Basic Supplies

Like all hobbies it is important to have the right equipment to make the time you spend working as rewarding and enjoyable as possible. Here is a lis of basic tools that will help to
get you on the right path to successful scrapbooking.

Paper Trimmer
Paper Trimmer
It is important to have a good quality paper trimmer that will take up to a 12" piece of cardstock or patterned paper as this is the standard scrapbooking paper size.
Another important consideration is that is has both metric and imperial measurements marked on the rulers.  Like most tools with blades they will become blunt,  so
when considering what type of trimmer to buy make sure that you are able to buy replacement blades for it, and that they are available.  If you would like to purchase
this trimmer simply click here to view the product in our online store.

Adhesives
There are literally hundreds on adhesives available on the market for scrapbooking and papercraft.  To get you started a basic adhesive runner or mounting squares will do the job, then as your stash grows so will your need for various other adhesives. If you would like to purchase these mounting squares simply click here to view the product in our online store.  To view our full range of adhesives click here to find a product to suit your needs.

Small Scissors

A small pair of scissors with a sharp point are a must have for trimming small pieces of ribbon or paper.  They are also useful for trimming the rough edge on a piece of cardstock, paper or diecut. Make sure you choose a pair of scissors that feel comfortable in your hand, and a flat edge, not serated. If you would like to purchase these scissors simply click here to view the product in our online store.  There are also some great scissors from Tonic  and Fiskars.

Ruler

There are many types of rulers to choose from, the best one to help you get started however is a centreing ruler.  It has zero in the middle with measurements going both ways so that you can easily centre an item on your page.  If you would like to purchase this ruler simply click here to view the product in our online store. Once you have been scrapbooking for a while you may also find a metal ruler useful for using with a craft knife and a paper piercing ruler for spacing brads and eyelets or for faux sewing.

Fine Tipped Black Pen

While journaling can be added to scrapbook layouts using many colors, a black, fine-tipped pen is the workhorse of the scrapbooker. Use a black pen to write journaling, to doodle shapes, or to embellish other elements on the scrapbook page. If you would like to purchase this fine tipped black pen simply click here to view the product in our online store.  This pen is also available in 0.3mm point as well as brown in 0.5mm point

White Gel Pen
A white gel pen is essential for adding journalling or highlights to dark coloured cardstock or papers.  Make sure that you select a pen that has a broad tip, as the ink flows much better, and the finer tipped pens can leave a scratchy effect.  If you would like to purchase this white gel pen simply click here to view the product in our online store.  There are also other colours available.

Paper Piercer

A paper piercer is a great tool that you will use a lot. Use with a piercing mat to make a hole to insert a brad or piece of ribbon, or with a piercing ruler to make a line for faux stitching. It's uses are endless. If you would like to purchase this paper piercer simply click here to view the product in our online store.
Craft Knife

Craft knives are great tools for trimming excess material from embellishments, cutting freehand titles out of scrapbook paper, or cutting small slits or holes for brads or other embellishments. If you would like to purchase this craft knife simply click here to view the product in our online store.  This is a great little craft knife as it comes with 5 spare blades and being retractable you can't loose the lid in your tool bag!!
